So I had high expectations based on reviews. The restaurant is charming and little bit tightly seated, but very cozy. The free glass of Prosecco and appetizers are a very nice touch. Appetizers: our party had tagliatelli with wild boar ragu, ravioli with white truffle, burrata and eggplant and zucchini carpaccio. They were all good. The carpaccio was a bit bigger than expected and very good. However, the white truffle ravioli, wild boar ragu and burrata were sublime. My daughter said it ruined her for all future burrata it was so good. Then we all split the pear ravioli, while it was very good, I didn't think it was as good as the other three.
Main courses: three types of steak: steak with Parmesan and rocket, steak with bacon and lardons, steak with olive oil, garlic and rosemary, and one person got Branzino in a red wine reduction. They were all really good, but the bacon and lardons and Parmesan and arugula were amazing.
Three don't have An English menu, but the waiters are really good at working with you to help you find something delicious. It was a remarkable experience and we wouldn't hesitate to come back! 4 people, 2 bottles of wine ~€350 -

Amazing service and food
The restaurant is pretty and have a romantic environment.
The menus are in Italian which can be an issue but with the help of the waiters you can figure it out.
The bread was average at best but the dishes that came after like the seafood spaghetti and the fish were amazing.
Also dessert was just ok, we got tiramisu and cheesecake, I would skip the dessert and get gelato somewhere else.
Overall nice place with a great atmosphere and excellent service. -

This is my favorite restaurant in the entire world with the best food. The service is amazing, the waiters are so sweet, and the feed was the best food I've ever had. I would 100% recommend the pear ravioli because it seriously is some of the best pasta and also the artichoke appetizer.
Definitely make a reservation on their website ahead of time, but this restaurant is a must if you ever come to Florence. -

La Giostra is absolutely worth the hype. This is known as one of the best, if not the best restaurants in Florence. Don't skip out if you are in town, and be sure to make a reservation well ahead of time on their website. I made my reservation two months in advance, and time slots were still limited. So yeah, it's like that.
Before ordering a thing we were wowed. The ceiling is adorned in glimmering string lights and there are photos of celebrities that have dined at the restaurant all over the walls (seriously, who hasn't eaten here??). The meal also starts off with some comped glasses of champs to really set the mood.
After lots of Yelp stalking it was clear to see that there are two important dishes, and my husband and I made sure to order both. You cannot dine at La Giostra without trying the famous pear ravioli. It's just so good and hard to put into words. The sauce is creamy yet light, the pasta perfectly al dente and the pear and cheese flavors just work so well together. We also shared the Florentine steak. You can have your steak prepared balsamic or garlic and rosemary style. We opted for garlic and rosemary and it was delicious. So flavorful and cooked to perfection. Even the sides of carrot, potato and spinach were phenomenal. Every little thing here is made with love and care and we seriously savored every single bite of food.
The night ended with a deliciously sweet piece of tiramisu and full and happy bellies. For very high quality food in a romantic setting you really can't go wrong. I'm already dreaming of my return. -

Hands down the best meal I had in Florence, definitely up there in one of the top meals of my life. This is a cozy, dimly-lit restaurant with walls covered in photographs - mainly of the restaurant owner and his guests over the years (like Will Smith??). It's a really nice ambience with twinkly lights on the ceiling and candles on every table. Would recommend making a reservation in advance.
They provide a glass of complimentary prosecco per person and a free appetizer. We ordered the pear ravioli, wild boar pappardelle, and the florentine steak for 2 (1 kg!!). The pear ravioli is no joke - it could be the best pasta I've ever had. The wild boar is also superb and super savory. The florentine steak is massive - we ordered medium rare but it was still really really rare. Be prepared for some extremely red meat. After sharing this between 2 people, we were absolutely stuffed and couldn't finish it all. Pasta was by far the best - don't skip the pear ravioli.
